Incrediballs 101

How do you use Incrediballs?

Starting with the important bit, it's not one ball per drink.
I know, that's what we're all used to, but Incrediballs are teeny tiny balls for a reason. Well, that and the smaller the thing, the cuter it is.

Incrediballs are designed to be adjustaball to whatever you prefer. If you are one of those people who looks back wistfully to a childhood filled with watered down juice, maybe you might want to start with 3 balls in a glass of water. If you want so much flavour it makes your eyes water, you're a 10 baller. There is no right or wrong.

How many should I start with?

If you want the full-bodied flavour

Go straight to 10 balls in 350ml of water. Any more than 10 and they start to get a bit too strong.

Or if you'd prefer just a hint of flavour

Start with 3 balls in 350ml of water. It'll be nice and light and if that's how you like it, who are we to judge.

And if you want something in between...

Start with 5 or 6 balls, and go from there. Remember, you can add more, but you can't take em out.

They're designed to be customisaball

As our range grows, eventually you'll be able to mix and match balls to create basically any flavour, any cocktail, any drink you can dream up. We will probably have competitions.

Try them with sparkling water

This one is a little obvious, but an easy win and super-duper delicious. Our cola really does taste like a cola. We were really surprised when we tried the first sample.

Cocktails, mocktails, smoothies & more.

Anywhere you would add water, (or really almost any kind of liquid) you can use Incrediballs. We're just that flexible.

Mix up your flavours

Trust me - mix five cola balls with three orange ones and prepare to have your mind blown. Or grapefruit (bitey, sharp) with orange (sweet, full-bodied) is an excellent blend.

Create an Incredipop

Which is exactly what it sounds like. Mix your Incrediballs up as usual (though we recommend going slightly stronger if you prefer it light normally), pour into a mould and freeze.

Quick tips

No, not really. They fizz as they dissolve, but the only reason fizzy drinks are fizzy is because they are stored under pressure in cans or bottles. You know how when you leave the lid off, or crack open a can, an hour later it's flat? Yeah, same principle. If you want them fizzy, using sparkling water is the way to go.

Well the first answer is tap water of course - if you live in a place where it is safe to drink (which is most of us in places where we sell Incrediballs, but the bottled water companies sometimes pretend it isn't...).

After that, the sky is your limit! Sparkling water is delish, we love the Oh Bubbles fizz makers.

Bored with water? Well you can try other things too. Wine is a good one, champagne is delicious, and of course there are various spirits you can try (although we do recommend adding at least some water to help them dissolve a little easier and because otherwise... she'll be strong!).

You can pop them in tonic water, lemonade, beer (if you were so inclined), anddd who knows what else I'm running out of ideas.

The one thing to avoid? Don't drop them in milk. The citric acid (bit that makes them fizz) curdles the milk and that is foul.

That is one of those questions - like how long is a piece of string. It depends on the temperature of the water. Between 1-5 minutes is average across a variety of water temperatures.

We tested a bunch and Incrediballs were the quickest on the market (that we could find), so we're pleased with that. Quicker than making a cup of tea!

The golden rule is the colder the liquid, the slower the reaction. That's physics unfortunately and we can't fight that one.

You can add whatever your heart desires, although we recommend adding them after they've dissolved. Cold things will slow them down, and some things just physically get in the way (like particularly seedy fruit).

And I know we all love mini umbrellas, but can we at least reuse them? #downwithsingleuse.

If you don't know how many to start with, start in the middle. Drop five balls into about 350ml of water (it doesn't have to be exact but that's a fairly standard tall drinking glass volume). Taste, savour, ponder. Do you want it stronger? Add a couple more balls. Want it weaker? Well, you can't take them out so add a bit more water.

It sounds complicated but you really only need to do it the first time. And you might discover a whole new side of yourself and suddenly decide to become a chemist.

What is so special about them?

Incrediballs are genuinely a world-first. Which is a shame, being as we are drowning in single-use plastic and the drinks industry is the greatest contributor to that, but here we are.

Effervescent tablets love water. And the air around us contains loads of it, so effervescent tablets tend to react in even moderate humidity if they're left naked. To prevent that, they're packed into plastic or metal.

But we have some clever green tech in our balls which means we can package them in home-compostable cardboard packaging. I'm pretty chuffed with that. It only took about 10 years of total R&D to get the idea to market 😮‍💨

What's our goal?

Well, we want to save 30 million plastic bottles by 2030.

Which is quite a lot really. So we better get cracking.

We want to prove that single-use plastic isn’t necessary. That better options exist. And that we don’t have to keep funding companies that trash the planet and exploit people while making obscene amounts of money (not looking at anyone in particular 👀).
